Blogiversary Celebration {There's a Shoe for That turns 1!}
A year of blogging is in the books (or “on the line” as Billy would say) already! Part of me still doesn’t believe that I even hit the “publish” button to begin with. And now, there are more than 80 posts published on There’s a Shoe for That and many more in the works… what a journey it has been so far.
Blogiversary Celebration {There's a Shoe for That turns 1!}

My blogiversary has given me reason to reflect on what my original goals were for this blog and why I wanted to start writing it to begin with… and has provided for a great excuse to get an Ice Cream Cake to celebrate! To celebrate I have 4 awesome prizes that you can win by entering the giveaway contest at the bottom of this post as a “Thank You” for taking this walk with me.
READ ALL THE WAY TILL THE END OF THIS POST TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY!!

The real reasons were (and still are) pretty simple:

1) I wanted to share my new perspective as a mom – I knew there had to be more people “like me” out there who joke about how much babies and puppies are alike…who obsess over preparing for daycare and other kid things alike… and who had a rude awakening when they started travelling with a baby instead of in a business suit and heels. And, I was right! As it turns out there are many moms just like me out there; some of whom I have had the pleasure of meeting because of this blog. This is the foundation for In My Shoes.

2) I need a reason – I love travelling, exploring and discovering new things (and, yes… to me exploring and discovering new things are different, haha). With a 7 month old that was getting harder and harder to do. Without a reason to get outside and discover a new trail, park or restaurant I found myself staying home because it was just easier. What a shame since we live in an area that has so much to discover and so many amazing things to see and do. Then on another note, I have been lucky in my life to have travelled to many places around the world but have been lazy about recording memories or journalling the trips. Having the Travel section of the blog helps solve everything I just mentioned… and makes me want to get out and explore more than ever before if I you can believe it!

3) I wanted something “fun” to do, for me – I don’t have all that many hobbies so when I started thinking about what I could do for fun the list became even smaller with a 7 month rolling around (quite literally…rolling around). As part of my brainstorming, shoes and wine were consistently at the top of the list and so was born the name of the blog, There’s a Shoe for That and the Wine O’Clock section. This section really is all about me tasting new wines, enjoying them with friends and having something consistently “non-baby” to talk about. Although these are some of my simplest posts, they have certainly been some of the most memorable to research!

To all of you who have taken the time to read even just one of my posts, commented, sent messages, liked my Facebook page, followed me on twitter and Instagram – THANK YOU! Your support means more to me than you’ll ever know.

And now, without further ado here is  list of the 4 awesome prizes you can win as part of my blogiversary celebration:
