Great Big Friggin' Red

Name: Great Big Friggin' Red
Country: Canada (Nova Scotia)
Vintage: 2017 (Canada 150 Special)
Price: $21

Why did I decide to try this wine? The name kind of says it all doesn't it? really though, I loved the name and the label, then found out it was a Nova Scotia wine which I also love and last but not least read the back of the bottle which describes the wine as "friendship in a bottle". I couldn't leave the store without at least one bottle to try! I ended up trying this wine the night before Little Dude's 2nd birthday so thought it would be kind of fun to take a picture of it in his decoration toy dump truck.

red wineWould I prefer one glass or indulge in the bottle? Bottle. This is a total "crowd pleasing" red without question.

What shoes would I wear drinking this wine? They have to be big, they have to be bold and they have to be red! Or at the very least, have red soles ;)

How would I describe the wine? It smelled rich, kind of like deep perfume that leaves a lasting impression and sticks to your nose. Kind of like when someone is wearing "Red Door" by Elizabeth Arden, you love the smell, but you know it's there the whole time. To taste - the wine had a velvety smooth texture with hints of vanilla (for me anyway...).

  1. I don't think I've ever read a review on any sort of wine before, so this would be a first. Great review though, I totally get the essence of what you're trying to convey. Great job!
